Milling & Reclamation

Understanding Milling

If you’re seeking a cost-effective solution to enhance the performance and appearance of your deteriorating asphalt, milling is the ideal choice. Unlike the extensive process of excavating and replacing the entire asphalt surface, milling involves replacing only the top section, which is typically a few inches thick.

This approach offers a more economical option with a faster turnaround time compared to alternative methods, which minimizes traffic disruptions.

The Process

Preparation

We clear any obstacles, thoroughly clean the asphalt surface, and assess the condition of the existing pavement.

Milling

Using specialized equipment, we remove the top layer of asphalt through grinding, with the recycled material typically reused for the new layer.

Surface Repair

Any damage or irregularities in the underlying layer, known as the subgrade, are addressed to strengthen the asphalt foundation.

Application

The new asphalt layer is poured onto the prepared subgrade and compressed to achieve a seamless surface.

Finishing & Marking

Final touches, such as line striping and road markings, are applied to the new asphalt layer, ensuring it’s ready for use.

What Is Reclamation?

Reclamation establishes a new base for damaged asphalt. By not excavating the existing asphalt, this method reduces operational expenses and accelerates turnaround times.

The Process

Grind & Blend

We grind and blend the remaining material, incorporating any soil and aggregates, to form a resilient foundation.
